Cropmark for Mac
Capture any part of the screen, mark it up, and send it on, all from the menu bar. Cropmark works entirely on your Mac, with no account, no tracking and nothing uploaded.
What it does
The screenshot tool the Mac was missing.
Capture anything
A window, a region you drag out, the full screen, or the same region as last time. The screen freezes while you select, so menus and hover states stay put.
Adjust before you commit
Every capture lands in an adjustable selection first. Drag the handles to fine-tune the crop, then press Return.
Mark it up
Arrows, lines, rectangles, ellipses and triangles (filled or outlined), text, speech bubbles, numbered steps, a highlighter, and crop.
Hide what's private
Pixelate or blur names, emails and keys. The saved image is flattened, so the original pixels underneath are gone.
Copy the text
Pull the text out of any capture with on-device text recognition, fix any mistakes, and copy it.
Pin it to the screen
Float a capture above every window for reference while you work. Drag it anywhere, resize it, or fade it back.

Cropmark can't capture the screen
macOS asks for permission before any app can capture the screen. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording, turn on Cropmark, then quit and reopen it.
A shortcut doesn't do anything
Another app may already use that key combination. Open Cropmark › Settings › Shortcuts: a warning icon marks any shortcut that couldn't be registered. Click it and press a different combination.
Where are my screenshots saved?
By default in Pictures › Cropmark. Choose a different folder, file format and file name pattern in Cropmark › Settings › Output.
Where is Cropmark after I open it?
Cropmark lives in the menu bar (look for the viewfinder icon) rather than the Dock. Click it for every capture command and for Settings.
Privacy policy
Cropmark collects nothing.
Effective October 22, 2026. This policy covers the Cropmark app for macOS, made by InVerum Group and published on the Mac App Store by Inverum LLC ("InVerum").
What Cropmark collects
Nothing. Cropmark does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal information or usage data. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it makes no network connections.
Your screenshots
Captures stay on your Mac. Cropmark only captures the screen when you use a shortcut or a capture command, and it only puts images where you send them: the clipboard, a folder you choose, or another app you drag them into.
Text recognition
Copy Text uses Apple's on-device text recognition. The image and the recognized text never leave your Mac.
Permissions
Cropmark asks for Screen Recording permission because macOS requires it before any app can capture the screen. It reads files only when you open them, and it writes only to the save folder you choose (Pictures › Cropmark by default) or to a location you pick in a Save dialog.
Settings
Your preferences, such as shortcuts, the save folder and tool colors, are stored on your Mac in the app's own settings and are never sent anywhere.
Children
Cropmark collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
